Nichols-Smith Conservation Land Trust

Our Organization

The Nichols-Smith Conservation Land Trust has adopted the nationally recognized Land Trust Alliance Standard and Practices. These guidelines assure the responsible operation of a land trust.

Our Mission

The Nichols-Smith Conservation Land Trust (NSCLT) exists to help conserve the natural resources and open spaces of the region. We place special emphasis on conserving farms and forests, waterways and wetlands, scenic ways and wildlife habitats.

Our Name

Hollis Nichols and Jeff Smith

For 50 years, these local men pioneered and sustained the conservation of natural and rural resources in the region. We named the Nichols-Smith Conservation Land Trust in their memory.

NSCLT Board

NSCLT is directed by an elected Board of Trustees. The volunteer Board is made up of local citizens concerned about conservation.

Conservation Easements

NSCLT monitors these four conservation easements:

Town of Hollis, Woodmont Orchards

Beaver Brook Association

The Bayrd Farm in Hollis

Town of Milford, Traver Property

Additional Conservation Easement

We are currently working with Beaver Brook Association to accept additional Conservation Easements on their property.
